Group Animals and Solitary Animals

What is different between group animals and solitary animals?

Group Animals:

    Some animals live together with other members of the same species in a habitat. They are called group animals.
Meerkat
  Animals like Meerkat, are too weak to fight predators or to hunt food alone. Meerkat is a type of Mongoose. They live in groups and depend on one another for survival. They are highly sociable and communicative species. The group fights predators together to keep everyone safe form harm, and work together to find food. This type of interaction between Meerkat is called cooperation.
 
    The advantages of living in groups are as follows:-
    a) They can work together to look for food.
    b) They can take care of the members which are injured or sick.
    c) They can protect their young together.

    Examples of group animals:    
monkeys
    

lions



penguins

cows

bees



Solitary Animals:

    Some animals prefer to live alone in a habitat. They are called solitary animals.
    Tigers are solitary animals that stalk and attacked from ambush. Their stripes provide camouflage by breaking up the outline of their bodies when hidden in talk grasses. They live and do everything alone. They always controls a certain territory to avoid competition for food and space with others. They don not share their food and space with others.

    The advantages of living alone are as follows:-
    a) They have enough food to eat. They do not need to share their food.
    b) The have more space to live in.

    Examples of animals that live in solitary are spider, panda, eagle, tiger and lizard.
